Frequently Asked Questions
Who I Work With
I work with established business owners and nonprofit organizations across Falls Church, Arlington, Alexandria, and the surrounding area. Most of my clients come to me at the same point. Revenue is real, the business is past the startup stage, and the financial side has not kept up.
Service based businesses. Consultants, agencies, contractors, and professional practices where the money comes in through projects and retainers rather than inventory.
Nonprofits. Organizations that need clean books for their board, their grantors, and their annual filings.
Owners in transition. Businesses adding payroll for the first time, changing entity structure, or preparing for a loan, a lease, or a sale.
If your books are behind, if you are not sure what you owe, or if you are making decisions on numbers you do not fully trust, that is the work.

An Enrolled Agent is licensed directly by the federal government and holds unlimited practice rights before the IRS in every state. CPAs are licensed state by state, and their training covers auditing and financial reporting alongside tax. Both are credentialed professionals. The practical difference is that an Enrolled Agent specializes in tax and can represent you before the IRS anywhere in the country.

It is common, and it is fixable. Catch-up bookkeeping is a large part of what I do. Bring me whatever you have- bank statements, receipts, a QuickBooks file nobody has opened since last spring- and I will reconstruct it. The sooner it happens, the less it costs, because missing records get harder to recover with time.

A bookkeeper records what already happened. A fractional CFO helps you decide what happens next. If you are asking whether you can afford to hire, whether to take on debt, or why profit and cash never seem to match, you have outgrown bookkeeping alone.

It depends on transaction volume, how many accounts you have, and whether payroll is involved. I quote after the discovery call rather than posting a number that turns out to be wrong for your situation. The call is free and takes twenty minutes.

Yes. Everything is handled remotely. Being local to Falls Church, Arlington, Alexandria, and Northern Virginia means I can meet in person when it helps, but it is not required.
